12kg gold bar recovered at HSIA

The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (CIID) has recovered 12 kg of gold bars, worth Tk 8 crore, from the cargo hold of a plane arriving from Dubai at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).
CIID’s director general Dr. Md. Abdur Rauf confirmed the matter to the media on Monday morning.
According to customs intelligence sources, 12 kg gold bars and ornaments were recovered from the cargo hold of Bangladesh Biman’s return cargo flight BG-4148 at HSIA. The gold bars were brought for “smuggling” purposes. So far no trafficker has been identified.
