12 killed as bus overturns on highway in Mexico

At least 12 people have been killed when a bus overturned on a highway in the northeastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas. Another 10 people were injured in the incident.
The accident took place when the bus was heading from the border town of Reynosa to Monterrey in the neighboring state of Nuevo León on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
Civil protection coordinator Pedro Granados told reporters that nine people, including the bus driver, were killed on the spot. Three more died after being taken to hospital. The injured have been taken to hospital.
It is learned that the driver lost control of the bus and caused the accident.
Noted that the Tamaulipas Highway is considered one of the most dangerous roads in Mexico. The criminal gangs regularly carry out activities like kidnapping and extortion on this road.
