12 Jamaat-e-Islami activists sent to Jail

A Dhaka court has sent 12 Jamaat-e-Islami activists to jail, who were held from Aziz Co-operative building in Bijaynagar of the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Millat Hossain issued the order on Thursday. Earlier, 16 Jamaat-e-Islami activists were detained during a meeting for sabotage on Wednesday night. On that night, after verification, the police filed case against 12 at Shahbag police station under special law of power.

The Jamaat activists sent to jail are-Masum Billah, Mofasshir Bazlur Rahman Amini, Motahar Hossain, Rajibul Islam, Masud Rana, Mohsin Uddin, Omidul Islam, Billal Hossain, Raju Ahmed, Anisur Rahman, Mohsin Hasan, and Parvej Hossein. Among the accused, Parvez Hossein is a Supreme Court lawyer.

Ramna Zone DC Sajjadur Rahman said they were detained while meeting for sabotage. 12 persons have been sued after verification. The remaining five were released after interrogation.
