112 overcome COVID-19 in Chakaria last month

112 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Chakaria of Cox's Bazar. The recovery rate is much higher than the infected rate. However, despite the high recovery rate, the administration needs to continue its efforts to prevent its transmission.
Amir Hamza, Statistics Officer of Chakaria Upazila Health Complex, said 158 COVID-19 patients have been identified in Chakaria so far. 112 of them have recovered and Two died.
Most of them have recovered from isolation at home. 74 of them were at respective home and 38 were at the isolation ward of the hospital.
He added that there are currently 54 active patients remain in Chakaria. Four of them are receiving treatment in isolation at home. The other 10 are undergoing treatment in the isolation ward of the hospital. Several of them are on the way to recovery.
Upazila Health Complex COVID Hospital Coordinator Mostafa Kamal said that it takes 14-15 days for a patient with coronavirus to recover. As such, the treatment of coronavirus sufferers in Chakaria has been going on for about a month. That is why almost everyone is recovering together.
“We who are treating COVID-19 patients are trying to work very sincerely," he added. “As can be seen, most of the sufferers do not have any symptoms. So, we are treating those who have less or no symptoms at home isolation. We are in constant contact with them. If any of them are in bad condition, we will bring them to the isolation ward of the hospital.”
