11 bodies identified in DNA test

Of the dead, 11 bodies were identified by the DNA test in the fire incident of Churihatta in Chawkbazar, Old Dhaka.
The Police Crime Investigation Department (CID) confirmed the information on Wednesday morning.
Rumana Akhter, CID Special Superintendent of Police (SSP), said, “We will hand over the identification reports of the 11 people to the investigation officer today. They will do the rest. The identification of these 11 people will be published at a press conference later.”
As the bodies of 19 of the 67 people who were burnt in the devastating fire broke out in Churihatta, CID has collected DNA samples of the relatives of the deceased at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on February 22. A total of 38 DNA samples were collected.
On February 20, the horrific fire started from the Wahid Mansion building behind the Churihatta Shahi Mosque around 11:00 pm. 67 people dead in the fierce fire. About 50 people were injured.
Of the injured, nine people were admitted to the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of DMCH. Four of them died while undergoing treatment. The death toll stood at 71.
