A 101-year-old Italian man has returned home from hospital after healing from covid-19.
The man, who has been named only as “Mr P,” was admitted to hospital in Rimini, northeast Italy, last week after testing positive for Covid-19 and left the hospital on Thursday. Rimini’s vice mayor Gloria Lisi confirmed this to media
“Mr P made it. The family brought him home yesterday evening. To teach us that even at 101 years the future is not written,” she said.
The man identified only as “Mr. P” by authorities, was born during the Spanish flu epidemic in 1919. At least 600,000 people in Italy are estimated to have been killed during that outbreak.
Meanwhile, 86,498 covid-19 cases have been recorded so far in the country. Of them, 10,950 healed and 9,134 (including 919 new) died. Italy is at the top according to the number of deaths.
