101 surrendered yaba traders denied bail, charge formed

District and Sessions Judge's Court has denied bail to 101 yaba traders who surrendered in Cox's Bazar. Charges have been formed against them in drug cases.

After the hearing on Wednesday afternoon, the district and sessions judge Ismail Hossain formed charges against 101 accused. At the same time, he denied their bail.

This information has been confirmed by the state's lawyer and PP Advocate Faridul Alam.

On February 16, 2019, 102 yaba traders surrendered in the presence of then IGP Jabed Patwari and Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal at the Teknaf High School ground. After one of them died in jail, the police dropped him from the chargesheet and filed chargesheets against the remaining 101 people in two cases under the Narcotics and Arms Act.
