10 more Chuadanga villages under lockdown

The upazila administration has forced locked down in 10 more villages bordering Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga. The lockdown will remain in force from Sunday until further notice.

The villages are Sultanpur, Nastipur, Jhanjhandanga, Chhota Baldia, Barabaldia, Baradi, Kamarpara, Chakulia, Thakurpur, and Phulbari of Parkrishnapur-Madna Union Parishad of Damurhuda Upazila.

The announcement was made at an emergency meeting of the Upazila Corona Prevention Committee on Saturday at noon. With the latest, 17 villages of the upazila were locked down. Earlier, seven villages bordering Karpasdanga Union in the same upazila were locked down.

Ali Azgar Togar, MP of Chuadanga-2 constituency, said corona infection is increasing in the border areas. In the meantime, 17 villages have been brought under lockdown. These areas will be kept under special surveillance. During the lockdown financial and food assistance will be provided to the neddy.

Damurhuda Upazila Chairman Ali Munshur Babu and Upazila level public representatives, health officials, police and volunteers were present at the time.
