10 Malaysia-bound Rohingyas rescued from Bay

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued 10 Rohingyas from a trawler while they were going to Malaysia illegally from the bay near Shahparir Dwip in Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Friday. 

The identities of the arrestees could not be known yet.

Major Mehedi Hasan, commanding officer of RAB-7 in Cox’s Bazar, said that tipped off, a team of RAB-7 conducted a drive in the bay and rescued the Rohingyas around 8:30 am. 

The elite force also arrested a member of a human trafficking gang from the trawler.
