'Revised pay structure for RMG workers in February'

A tripartite parliamentary committee has been formed to address issues related to the movement and demand of garment workers. The committee formed will meet soon to resolve the issue according to the salary structure. The new Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said after the meeting that the problem would be resolved from the current month.

The information was informed after a two-hour meeting at Motijheel's Labor House on Tuesday.

Tipu Munshi said that if there is any discrimination or inconsistency in the salary structure of the garment workers, which also will be amended by January. Workers will get the salary in revised grading in February.

The minister urged protesters to join working without giving a befitting reply. Even if the movement continues, Tipu Munshi warned that strict action would be taken.

In this context, the minister urged workers to leave the movement and return to their respective factory.

Minister of State for Labor and Employment, Begum Mannujan Sufyan, President of Garment Owners Association, BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman, former president of the organization Atiqul Islam, senior police officer, garment workers' organization leaders were present.
