‘I am working for people’s development’: PM

Highlighting the various developmental activities of the present government, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, we are working relentlessly to improve the lives of the people. We strive to bring the benefits of independence to the doorstep of all people. The poverty rate has dropped down to 21 percent in the country.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the law and administration course of Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy at Shahbagh in the city on Thursday noon.

The Prime Minister said, 93 percent of the country's people now under the power services. In 2009, we started the government's activities while electricity production was 3,200 MW. Now we have upgraded it to 20 thousand megawatts. We are working to create electricity from home.

He also said that the activities we have done in the overall development of the country require continuity. For this, we aim to target 2021, 2041, 2071 and 2100.

"I am 72 years old now. I may not live until 2041. However, the leadership that needs to take the country forward, almost it is ready here.
